Needle Grinder

The Needle Grinder machine receives numerous inquiries regarding its efficiency. One of its notable features is the 14 station end effector, enabling the simultaneous grinding of 14 parts. What sets it apart is the remarkable speed at which it operates, capable of grinding a 30 gauge needle in as fast as 1.4 seconds. Furthermore, the machine is versatile, accommodating diameters ranging from .008″ to .146″ using a single end effector.
Sub Spindle – Creates needles such as lancet split, or buffing the needle ends if required
Water Blaster – Removes any remaining feathers off the needle after grinding. Robot can articulate the needles as needed
End of Arm Tooling – Includes 14 stations of continuous rotation collets to create any needle geometry
Fanuc Robot – Features .0004” repeatability, efficiently grinds highly accurate needles, and articulates in any manner required
Grinding Wheel – Provides typical one shift grinding 8-10 hours per day for up to 6 months. Measures 12” in diameter and 16” wide. Noritake brand, 600, 800, or 1000 grit. CBN also available.
Dresser Stationary Tool – At dressing, the system will compensate for each part as required
Coolant Pump – Delivers 300PSI high pressure, directed coolant at the point of grind
Designed to grind short runs or high volume production with automation, the system has a fit for all manufacturing environments
